Serena Willams Wins Wimbledon Title

Serena Williams 2009 Wimbledon

Congratulations to Serena Williams for defeating her sister, Venus, in their fourth time competing against one another for the Wimbledon title.

This is a victory for all little sisters everywhere! I love my big sister, but there is no doubt that living up to the precedent set by an amazing older sister is no easy task, particularly in the case of Serena and Venus Williams.

It has been six years since Serena has been to Wimbledon, but today she proved that she is determined to beat records set by her idol, tennis legend Billie Jean King.

Congrats Serena and I wonder where Common was during the match?

Healthy Eating During July 4th

With July 4th weekend upon us, it is necessary to think ahead when you are enjoying endless amounts of grilled food!

Remember the book, Eat This, Not That, well here are some tips from the author to avoid eaters guilt!

For me, I know I like to pig out during these holidays so I have been putting in some extra time at the gym!

Got any tips? Do tell!

Music Video: Drake--Best I Ever Had

Rating: Leave It

Hmm, I don't know what saddens me more...the fact that this video is just boobs and booty or that it was directed by the musical/visual arts genius that is Kanye West. I mean, I am really not feeling the direction of this video. Is it just me?

Maybe this is what Mr. West wanted, knowing that negative press is the best press? What's your take on the video?

Love It, Like It or Leave It?

Look of the Day: Gabrielle Union

Rating: LOVE IT

Gabby looks Mochalicious in this outfit which is appropriate for a night out in the summer months. Her hair looks great with the bangs, and the yellow boots are a great contrast for the zebra print top.

After wearing those MBT shoes I spoke about two posts ago, I am sure my legs will be ready for shorts!

What do we think? Love It, Like It or Leave It?

Summer Discount on Bliss Beauty Products Until July 5th

Bliss beauty products are on sale for up to 75% off.

Yes MochaBelles, this is true! I recently read in the Metro, a free newspaper in NYC, that Bliss is having major discounts up until July 5th!

Not sure what Bliss is, well they are a trendy spa that is a great introduction for anyone who has yet to get their feet wet in the luxurious world of spa treatments.

In NYC, Bliss is located at 541 Lexington Ave, they also have spas in other cities so check to see if your local Bliss is having sales

I personally love this product line! I used a hand lotion of theirs one time and was hooked! It rivals Bath and Body Works because their products work more effectively and aren't too damaging to a MochaBelle's budget!

Please do take advantage and spread the word.

Masai Barefoot Technology Shoe

For all my MochaBelles that want fabulous legs this summer then you have to add this to your bag of get-fabulous-quick-tricks! This shoe, designed by Masai Barefoot Technology, realigns your foot so that you walk properly and at the same time improves muscle tone in your legs and restores proper posture.

This is something to invest in since it can improve muscle tone as you are walking around town running errands instead of running on the treadmill at a gym.

Would you really use this? Are you currently using these? Do tell!

Michael Jackson R.I.P.

I am still in shock that we have lost one of the greatest musicians/entertainers of our time. Wow, he was only 50 years old and was preparing for another concert. I am so upset that I never got to experience the electricity of a Michael Jackson concert. I have dreamed of that since I was a young girl and wondered what came over those people that passed out at his concerts.

Well, when you transcend music and get to the root of human emotions with lyrics, you can cause international frenzy like Michael did!

I am greatful that he made a song about me, Dirty Diana, and know that many of you MochaBelles can identify with at least one of his songs.

IN memory of Michael, leave a story about one of your favorite songs and why.......

Mine is THRILLER, because to this day I am always frightened by the voice in the introduction and the video. I know its juvenile, but those ghouls and scary scenes can still get me screaming.

I LOVE YOU MICHAEL!!

Entreprenuers UNITE!

Hey Mochabelles,

Last night I went to a class hosted by the Learning Annex that was grrrrrreat! Aside from disspelling my secret desires for a get-rich-quick-scheme, the class allowed me to come in contact with some MochaBelles that are paving a name for themselves in the t-shirt industry. I met a wonderful MochaBelle by the name of Shannon that has a t-shirt line called Harlem University. It seems like all great fashion is starting in Harlem (and yes I am biased since I live there now!)

It's great to see women of color doing their thing, and with this in mind, I have stumbled upon a great resource to get us linked to other women called Mahoganybutterfly.com. One day I will see MochaBelle up there, but for now; check out some of the sites that our MochaBelles have created!

Look of the Day: Reggie Bush and Kim K

Rating: Leave It

Hmm, Not so sure about this look.

I like the dress, hair and makeup, but not paired together. With an exposed neckline, she needs dramatic jewelry and simple hair or vice versa.

Reggie looks rigid with the white jacket. He would have looked better with a nice all black outfit with hints of white.

What are your thoughts? Do you like this look?

I Am Sasha Fierce Tour

Oh boy MochaBelles! Beyonce AKA Sasha Fierce did an amazing performance last night at Madison Square Garden. I am still recovering from the concert and trying to regain my voice.

I am inspired by the level of professionalism this diva displayed last night! She was on time, she gave an amazing performance, she looked great and she even incorporated samples from other artists in between her songs AND her husband, Jay-Z, made a cameo appearance.

I enjoyed kickin' it with her people backstage and have to say that they are true professionals and not the least bit snooty, as people would believe!

After seeing the concert, I am motivated to get back on my gym grind and really make something outta myself!

Did you see the concert? What are your thoughts
